چکیده

Equations to investigate fluctuations in cosmic x-ray background radiation due to pointlike sources at high-redshift are formulated in a systematic way. The angular power spectrum of x-ray background fluctuations is investigated from large scales to small scales in various cosmological models such as open universe models and models with the cosmological constant, assuming a simple evolution model of the sources. The effect of the epoch-dependent bias is demonstrated for small-angle fluctuations. The contribution from shot noise fluctuations is also discussed. @S0556-2821~98!04720-1#

Small–scale anisotropies of cosmic rays from relative diffusion

The arrival directions of multi–TeV cosmic rays show significant anisotropies at small angular scales. It has been argued that this small scale structure is reflecting the local, turbulent magnetic field in the presence of a global dipole anisotropy in cosmic rays as determined by diffusion. This effect is analogous to weak gravitational lensing of temperature fluctuations of the cosmic microwa...

We present angular power spectra of the cosmic microwave background radiation anisotropy due to fluctuations of the Sunyaev-Zel’dovich (SZ) effect through clusters of galaxies. A contribution from the correlation among clusters is especially focused on, which has been neglected in the previous analyses. Employing the evolving linear bias factor based on the Press-Schechter formalism, we find th...

Angular Power Spectrum of the Galactic Synchrotron Radiation

We calculate the angular power spectrum of the galactic synchrotron radiation induced by the small scale fluctuations of the magnetic field and the cosmic ray electron density. Using the observed interstellar magnetic field spectrum, which is consistent with the Komolgorov turbulence model at the relevant scales, we find that Cl ∝ l−3.7. We estimate the cosmic ray electron density fluctuation s...

Power Spectrum Normalisation and the Non-Gaussian Halo Model

The normalisation of the matter power spectrum, σ8, is an essential ingredient to predict the phenomenology of the low redshift universe. It has been measured using several methods, such as X-ray cluster counts, weak lensing and the cosmic microwave background, which have yielded values ranging from 0.7 to 1.0. While these differences could be due to systematic effects, they could also be due t...

Small Scale Cosmological Perturbations: an Analytic Approach

Through analytic techniques verified by numerical calculations, we establish general relations between the matter and cosmic microwave background (CMB) power spectra and their dependence on cosmological parameters on small scales. Fluctuations in the CMB, baryons, cold dark matter (CDM), and neutrinos receive a boost at horizon crossing. Baryon drag on the photons causes alternating acoustic pe...
